  • Overview

For more than 25 years, the Chevy Silverado 1500 has been one of the most powerful and impressive trucks on the road, delivering full-size performance you know you can count on. Chevy has been a leader when it comes to making trucks people need for more than a century; it is no surprise, then, that they have developed one of the most remarkable all-electric pickups out there. The 2025 Chevy Silverado EV elevates electrified performance while delivering capability designed to tackle anything you need. If you are looking for a dedicated work truck, a powerful option for enjoying yourself on the weekend, or something to act as a bit of both, then Chevy has delivered with the Silverado EV.

In terms of performance, there is no denying that the Silverado EV is on another level compared to most trucks out there. Every model comes with a pair of battery-powered motors (one for each set of wheels), delivering electrified four-wheel drive (4WD) performance that ensures you have a great time behind the wheel of this pickup. The standard LT trim gets 645 hp and 765 lb-ft of torque when you unleash Wide Open Watts mode (think of it like all-electric launch control). This is not only exhilarating to drive, but it makes it much easier to get up to speed on a highway or get moving when doing some towing with your truck.

Speaking of which, the 2025 Silverado EV offers 12,500 lbs of maximum towing capacity, giving you the muscle you need to tackle any job. Loading up the Silverado EV is incredibly easy thanks to a standard bed that can fit items nearly six feet in length; with the available Multi-Flex midgate, objects more than ten feet in length can be loaded into the bed and secured before you hit the road. Inside this truck, you will find one of the most beautifully appointed and technologically innovative cabins on the market, with available features that include a 17.7-inch infotainment display, an 11-inch Driver Information Center screen, and a 14-inch head-up display. Combine that with GM's remarkable Super Cruise hands-free driving system, including trailering support, and you have a truck that shows you the future of the auto industry.

  • Performance

    Power and Range

The first thing we look at with any truck is how well it performs and handles on the road, particularly when it comes to power. Few vehicles are less enjoyable to drive than a big truck with underwhelming power; they fail to deliver on the promise that a full-size pickup makes simply by its design. Fortunately, Chevy understands this, and they make some of the most powerful and impressive trucks on the road; even more fortunately, the all-electric 2025 Silverado EV is no exception.

In terms of performance, you have two different options available to you since there is an Extended Range battery and a Max Range battery on offer. No matter which one you choose, you get a dual-motor, 4WD pickup with the Silverado EV; you do not have to worry about spending more to get the kind of electrified performance you need. Going with an Extended Range battery gets you 645 hp and 765 lb-ft of torque when you unleash the Wide Open Watts system for full power and incredible performance. If you want to take things further, then the Max Range battery puts out more power to deliver 760 hp and 785 lb-ft of torque in Wide Open Watts mode. That is a performance few other trucks can approach.

We know there are still drivers experiencing some range anxiety when thinking about making the change to an electric vehicle; Chevy knows this, too, which is why the Silverado EV has exceptional range, so you don't have to worry about it. Going with an Extended Range model, you get an estimated 408 miles of range from a full charge; the Max Range battery elevates that (as you would expect) to an estimated 460 miles from a full charge. That is remarkable range for a full-size truck, letting you take care of everything you need each day and recharge overnight so you don't have to make stops while you handle your business.

  • Capabilities

    Towing and Functionality

Although it is easy to focus on all of the impressive features of the 2025 Chevy Silverado EV, like its remarkable all-electric range or things like the available Super Cruise hands-free driving system, at the end of the day, this is still a truck. That means you expect it to be able to help you get some serious work done—and in this regard, it does not disappoint. With its impressive available tailgate and midgate options, the Silverado EV is particularly well designed for incredible functionality that is hard to beat.

For most of us, a great truck needs to be able to pull a lot of weight behind it, making it ideal for work, play, and everything in between. Whether you are hauling a boat to the lake on the weekend, taking a camper to your favorite campsite, or getting a trailer full of lumber to a job site, the Silverado EV is up to the task. Maximum towing with this pickup is 12,500 lbs when properly equipped. This is ideal for a wide range of tasks and the robust power that the battery and motors deliver makes it easy to tow whatever you need.

It is also just as easy to load up the truck itself. The lack of an engine means the Silverado EV features a front eTrunk with 10.7 cu.ft. of cargo space for you to use, with an available power-up/down hood that makes it easy to load and unload what you need. This pickup has a standard bed that can fit items nearly six feet in length, while the 60/40 split rear seats let it accommodate items up to nine feet long. One of our favorite features is the available Multi-Flex midgate with a pass-through that allows items almost eleven feet in length to fit securely into this truck's bed. Combine that with the available Multi-Flex tailgate that has six functions (including two different load stops and a full-width step), and you have a truck ready to help you do everything you need.

  • Technology

    Innovative Features

There is no denying that the 2025 Chevy Silverado EV is a technological marvel. Just in terms of performance, its use of GM's Ultium battery architecture, powerful motors, and Wide Open Watts system brings innovation to the road in a way that you can feel every day. Beyond that, however, we have a truck that's been loaded with tech features designed to improve every moment you are behind the wheel. The starting LT trim comes with a 17.7-inch LCD infotainment display with Google Built-In, an 11-inch color Driver Information Center, and a seven-speaker Bose Premium sound system.

Inside the LT, you will also find dual-zone automatic climate control to keep you and your front-seat passenger comfortable, plus remote start, keyless open and start, and a wireless charging pad. Chevy includes 12-way power-adjustable front seats in the LT, with heated front and rear seats, ventilated front seating, and much more. Choosing the RST trim adds a 14-inch multicolor head-up display to enhance your experience and more great features.

One of our favorite bits of technology for the 2025 Silverado EV is the available Super Cruise hands-free driving system, which is included with the RST trim. This offers true hands-free driving on a huge network of highways across the US and Canada, with more than 300 million miles driven using this system so far. Plus, GM's Super Cruise system is the only one currently available that has trailering support, which accommodates the added weight and drag from towing, so you can use it while you take care of anything you need.
