Thanks to improvements in technology and the growing demand for electric-powered vehicles, more high-quality EV are traveling America’s roadways than ever before. Even the timeless Blazer has gotten the EV treatment with the introduction of the Blazer EV in the 2024 model year. Now in its third production year, the Blazer EV offers drivers a modern SUV with high-end tech, great range, and impressive power for a vehicle of its size.

Drivers are quickly falling in love with the 2026 Chevy Blazer EV because, unlike many EV versions of existing vehicle lines, it remains true to its namesake. Its design and features embrace the SUV practicality and versatility of the gasoline-powered Blazer, with a modern flair. It blends performance and style with practical EV needs, such as range and charging, making it an easy transition for drivers moving from gas-powered vehicles.

Electrifying Performance and Instant EV Power

One of the most appealing aspects of EVs is their strong performance, with many models offering quick, responsive acceleration thanks to instant electric torque. The Blazer EV delivers smooth power and confident performance at higher speeds, going beyond efficiency alone.

Multiple Powertrain Options for Every Driving Style

The Blazer EV is available in three trim levels: an entry-level trim focused on comfort, a sporty, aggressive trim, and a performance-oriented trim.

Starting with the LT and RS trims, under the hood is an 85 kWh battery-powered single-motor that produces 220 hp and 243 lb-ft of torque and is standard with front-wheel drive (FWD). Moving up the engine lineup is a dual-motor version that delivers up to 300 hp and 355 lb-ft of torque. All-wheel drive (AWD) comes standard, offering added confidence in slick weather. Both powertrains offer smooth, nimble acceleration and plenty of power for navigating city traffic and the open road.

For drivers seeking maximum power behind the wheel of the 2026 Blazer EV, they can look to the SS trim, which ups the ante with a 102 kWh battery and dual motors. Standard with AWD, this powertrain delivers an incredible 615 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque when enabled by “Wide Open Watts” performance mode, making it capable of going from 0-60 mph in an eye-staggering 3.4 seconds and a true performance SUV.

Impressive Range and Fast-Charging Capability

The Blazer EV is available with two battery options depending on trim, which also impact range and charging speed. The LT and RS trims feature an 85 kWh battery with up to 150 kW DC fast-charging capability, while the SS trim upgrades to a 102 kWh battery with up to 190 kW DC fast charging.

Since the different trims and drivetrains each have their own power requirements, the range of the Blazer EV varies from one trim to the next. For example, the EPA-estimated range of the FWD-equipped LT and RS is 312 miles on a fully charged battery. However, the AWD versions of those trims have an EPA-estimated range of 283 miles per full charge.

Though the SS trim offers a significant increase in power, it maintains a similar range compared to the other Blazer EV options. Thanks to its more potent battery, the SS trim can produce more horsepower without losing range, with an EP-estimated range of 302 miles per charge.

Modern EV Design Without Losing Blazer Identity

While many EVs have a completely new, futuristic look, the Blazer EV keeps some of the standard Blazer’s familiar design while adding EV-specific styling details. It’s about the same size as the gas version, but the two are built on different platforms.

Inside the cabin, drivers are greeted by an elevated, intuitively designed, modern interior that wraps passengers in comfort and high-end tech, creating a driving experience like no other.

Exterior Styling and Aerodynamics

The Blazer EV shares similarities with its gasoline-powered namesake, including rooflines, footprints, and a signature rear liftgate. However, the EV model features significantly different design elements that differentiate it from its internal combustion counterpart.

For example, the Blazer EV replaces the large, open grille on the gas-powered Blazer with a smooth, closed front fascia for better aerodynamics. Its front-end design also draws inspiration from late-model Chevrolet Camaro styling, giving it a more aggressive, sporty look.

Since it was designed from the ground up as an electric vehicle, the Blazer EV has a different stance than the standard gas-powered Blazer models. Instead of the more traditional SUV proportions, it sits lower and wider, giving it a sportier, more athletic feel. It also features a longer wheelbase and more modern, animated lighting elements, creating a more futuristic appearance.

Interior Comfort and Cabin Technology

Like the exterior design, the interior of the Blazer EV is decidedly more futuristic and tech-forward. Its massive curved screens and immersive, intuitive tech surround the driver, creating a digital experience unlike anything in the current Blazer.

The Blazer EV also features a flat floor that isn’t part of the traditional Blazer’s design. Built on the EV Ultium “skateboard” platform, the EV model has no transmission tunnel or depressed floor pan. Despite the flat floor, the Blazer EV does have slightly less dedicated storage space than the gas-powered version, offering up to 59.1 cu.ft. of volume compared to the standard Blazer’s 64.2 cu.ft. With the rear seats upright, the EV Blazer offers up to 25.5 cu.ft. compared to the gas model with up to 30.5 cu.ft.

Next-Generation Safety, Tech, and Driver Convenience

As expected in a cutting-edge EV, the Blazer EV incorporates state-of-the-art technology, including safety, infotainment, and driver-assistance features that elevate the driving experience. With large screens, immersive audio, and top-notch driver-assistance systems, the Blazer EV offers a unique, driver-centered experience.

Seamless Connectivity and Immersive In-Car Technology

All trims in the Blazer EV lineup feature a best-in-class 17.7-inch curved infotainment touchscreen with navigation, voice commands, and Google built-in. There’s also an 11-inch driver information display in the cabin of every Blazer EV that provides drivers with real-time information, including driving data and remaining charge.

Connectivity is provided by an integrated Wi-Fi hotspot and two USB ports. There’s also wireless device connectivity thanks to integrated Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Google-designed apps. Wireless charging is available, and the myChevrolet app enables remote access to vehicle functions, including remote starting, remote climate control, and remote door lock management.

The standard sound setup in the Blazer EV is a six-speaker system on the LT and RS trims, and the SS trim features an eight-speaker Bose premium audio system for audiophiles.

Advanced Driver Assistance and Confidence-Boosting Safety Systems

The standard Chevy Safety Assist driver-assistance suite in the Blazer EV is similar to that in the gas-powered Blazer. Along with 15 other standard safety features, included in the suite are:

  • Automatic Emergency Braking
  • Forward Collision Alert
  • Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning
  • Following Distance Indicator
  • Blind-Spot Steering Assist
  • HD Surround Vision

Available features take the Blazer EV’s driver assistance systems to the next level. This includes Super Cruise, which enables hands-free driving on compatible roads. Enabling Super Cruise lets you arrive at your destination fully refreshed while the Blazer EV handles all the work.

The Blazer EV Makes Switching to Electric Easy

For drivers who want to transition to EV driving without losing the practicality, performance, and safety of traditionally powered vehicles, the Blazer EV offers the right balance of features and capabilities.

The Blazer EV delivers the high-end efficiency, reduced operating costs, and smooth acceleration of an electric-powered vehicle without sacrificing the interior comfort, tremendous versatility, and reliable performance of a fully electric vehicle.

It is a perfect bridge from the traditional driving experience of the past and the highly charged electric-focused future of automotive design. With a wide range, a digital-friendly design, and innovative tech, the Blazer EV paves the way for drivers who want to move towards an EV future.
