2025 Chevy Traverse Details

Buying the right three-row SUV can be tricky. A vehicle with three rows of seating should be spacious and comfortable for everyone aboard, but that’s not always the case; some three-row SUVs have great passenger capacity but provide a genuinely unenjoyable experience for anyone who isn’t the driver or co-pilot. This won’t be a worry if you buy the 2025 Chevy Traverse.
The 2025 Traverse has a sizable interior that’s perfect for large families because everyone is treated to plenty of headroom and legroom within its stylish cabin. Chevy has crafted one of the most contemporary spaces to keep your loved ones entertained and content, even during long road trips. It’s also an SUV with strong performance under the hood and impressive fuel efficiency. The 2025 Traverse is one of the most spacious three-row SUVs for cargo, too, making it a fantastic all-around model.

Performance

Power and Handling
The 2025 Chevy Traverse is one of the best-performing SUVs in its class and has one of the best performance-to-value ratios. It’s powered by a turbocharged 2.5L I-4 engine with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Accelerating the Traverse feels smooth as your transmission effortlessly changes gears as you speed up. It delivers an impactful punch in situations that call for it, allowing you to experience its raw 328 hp and 326 lb-ft of torque in all its glory.
Having a single powertrain configuration across the 2025 Traverse’s trim levels means that owners of the entry-level trim are still provided with exceptional horsepower and torque. It also means you don’t need to spend extra on a higher-end trim if you plan on enjoying the 2025 Traverse’s maximum towing capacity of 5,000 lbs. Such a capacity means that owners of Class III tow hitches will feel right at home.
The 2025 Traverse Z71 is the most rugged performer if you’re an off-road enthusiast. It has standard dampeners, a factory suspension lift, and twin-clutch All-Wheel Drive (AWD). A dedicated Terrain mode designed for navigating dangerous off-road inclines and ample rock crawling performance is standard with the Z71; this adds to the pre-existing drive modes available on other trims, like Normal, Sport, and Tow/Haul.
2025 Chevy Traverses with Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) have a slightly smaller fuel tank than the AWD models at 19.4 and 21.7 gallons, respectively. However, a full tank of gas lasts an estimated 446 miles of travel range before your next fill-up with an FWD model and 456 miles with an AWD Traverse. This is because of the slightly different fuel economy ratings. For example, FWD models have EPA-estimated ratings of 20 MPG in the city and 27 MPG on the highway, while AWD models earn 19 MPG in the city and 24 MPG on the highway. Both drivetrains are sufficiently efficient for everyday life and the occasional adventure.
Technology

Infotainment and Safety
The 2025 Chevy Traverse is built with impressive tech. Each model comes with a 17.7-inch infotainment center standard. The large screen is beautifully crafted and installed parallel to an 11-inch Driver Information Center, where you’d traditionally find analog gauges; this 11-inch screen digitizes the readouts of your fuel tank, speedometer, odometer, weather information, turn-by-turn navigation, metadata for the media you’re listening to, and much more. It goes a long way in making your cabin feel more modern than relying on analog gauges.
Beside the Driver Information Center, the sleek and angular infotainment center is a feast for the eyes. A physical volume knob sits on the top left portion of the screen for quick access to this key feature without looking away from the road. A Wi-Fi hotspot is standard with every trim and may be activated through flexible data plans. The infotainment center uses Google Built-In, which has most of the same functionality as Android Auto, but with one catch: no cell phone is required. The 2025 Traverse’s infotainment center having Google Built-In means the Play Store, Maps, and other Google-connected services are integrated into the system itself and accessible through the home menu.
Google Built-In is an even greater upgrade than switching from regular Android Auto to wireless Android Auto. Your cellphone instead can sit nestled on the standard wireless charging pad until you need it, and you can connect it through Bluetooth if you use apps like Apple Music or wish to use hands-free calling. You’ll listen to all of your favorite songs through the 2025 Traverse’s excellent speaker systems: a 6-speaker audio system is standard, but a 10-speaker Bose premium audio system is available on the LT and Z71 and standard on the High Country and RS.
The 2025 Traverse has several standard safety features, with more available. A Forward Collision Alert is standard; this uses sensors to alert you when you should brake to avoid colliding with the car ahead of you or advise you if you should give another driver more space. Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning is standard with every 2025 Traverse to prevent you from unintentionally switching lanes by slightly adjusting your steering to maintain a steady position in your intended lane and signaling an alert if you’re straying over the line without a turn signal.
The brand’s Chevy Safety Assist suite is standard with the 2025 Traverse, which is why you’ll find a wide range of safety features like the aforementioned as standard. The 2025 Traverse also supports the brand’s Super Cruise tool, which comes standard on the High Country and RS and is available on the LT and Z71. Opting for Super Cruise gets you a three-year subscription to this hands-free driving tool. You’ll know if you’re on a compatible road by the light bar on the top of your steering wheel, which illuminates green when activated. Super Cruise not only includes taking your hands off the wheel but changing lanes when needed and adjusting speed to match traffic flow on over 750,000 miles of supported roads.
Interior

Comfort and Space
The 2025 Chevy Traverse is a respectably sized SUV. It has three rows of seats, making it an excellent choice for large families. It has a maximum seating capacity of seven or eight passengers: seven with second-row captain’s chairs or eight with a second-row bench seat. The entry-level 2025 Traverse LT seats seven, and eight-passenger seating is available, but every other trim only supports the former.
An 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat is standard. However, only the High Country and RS come with integrated 4-way power-lumbar controls. These trims also give your co-pilot a 6-way power-adjustable seat with 4-way power lumbar controls. Also, the front seats and steering wheel are heated on every trim; the High Country and RS also have ventilation in the front seats.
Tri-zone automatic climate controls are standard, so the temperature can be customized in three areas of the cabin to maintain everyone’s unique comfort levels. Many vehicles today opt for dual-zone automatic climate controls, which allow the driver and co-pilot to decide how hot or cold they wish their side of the cabin to be, but the Traverse goes one step further for rear passengers. Chevy built the Traverse expecting your loved ones to regularly be with you and believing they deserved special treatment, too.
The 2025 Traverse has 22.9 cu.ft. of cargo space when all seats are upright. This increases to 56.6 cu.ft. with the third row folded down. The 2025 Traverse also has a best-in-class 97.6 cu.ft. of cargo room when both rear rows are folded, leaving just your seat and the co-pilot’s seat upright. Every 2025 Traverse except the RS trim has 42.6 inches of front-row headroom and 44.29 inches of front-row legroom; the RS has a slightly lower 40.67 inches of front headroom. Similarly, all trims but the RS has 39.96 inches of second-row headroom, while the RS has 38.19 inches. Each trim has the same 41.46 inches of second-row legroom.
Unlike the other rows, the third-row headroom is improved with the RS, with 38.54 inches instead of 38.27 inches for the other three trims. Your 2025 Traverse’s third row will have 32.13 inches of legroom regardless of trim. Having three rows of seats would be wasted if they weren’t all comfortable. Although the third row of three-row SUVs naturally has less legroom than the others, the 2025 Traverse is impressive because it provides a comfortable experience for your family anywhere they sit.
