  • Overview

While many American-made sports coupes are being phased out, Chevy keeps bucking trends by providing those who enjoy the power of a naturally aspirated V8 and modern aerodynamic sports car lines with an all-new model year of the Stingray. The 2024 Chevy Corvette Stingray continues a tradition that spans more than half a century, rivaling some of the biggest names in the automotive industry, such as modern-day heavy-hitters in the supercar space like the Porsche 718 Cayman, the Lotus Emira, and the illustrious BMW M4; the Stingray manages to do this all while still maintaining an affordable entry-level price for what it has to offer. The 2024 outing manages to provide sports car enthusiasts with lots of exciting new features, even while the Corvette E-Ray makes its debut for 2024, contrasting the hybrid design with a traditional gas-powered model.

New for 2024, the Stingray sees a number of new additions for both the two-door convertible and hard-top coupe in the form of additional standard safety features embedded throughout all of the available trims, as well as new standard tech features on all trims, such as the rear camera mirror. Two new wheel designs have been added, along with power hood pull-down functionality for the rear mid-engine canopy. All new appearance packages and accent-color schemes have been added, in addition to all new exterior colors. There's also the all new data recorder available for the 1LT trim.

When it comes to trim availability, you have three base trims and a special performance package to choose from. The trims include the 1LT, 2LT, and the 3LT. For those of you who want more power and performance out of the 2024 Stingray, you also have access to the Z51 Performance Package, which includes upgrades to the suspension, tuning to the powertrain, and other performance enhancements to get the most out of the Corvette's capabilities on the road or the track.

  • Performance

The base 2024 Corvette Stingray is available with a single mid-engine design in two different powertrain configurations. Both configurations consist of a 6.2-liter V8, but the base powertrain makes 490 hp at 465 lb-ft of torque for the three standard trims. However, you can expect up to 495 hp at 470 lb-ft of torque when any of the three trims are paired with the Z51 Performance Package. Both configurations are also attached to an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission to get the most out of the naturally aspirated V8.

    The Z51 Performance Package

As for the Z51 Performance Package… it comes with multiple modifications to the Corvette, including Magnetic Selective Ride Control, which makes use of electromagnetic damping that can dynamically adapt the suspension to stiffen based on sensors that monitor vehicle and road conditions every single millisecond, with reactive damping as quick as 10 milliseconds. Manually adjustable threaded spring seats also come standard with the Z51 Performance Package, as well as performance stability and traction management. This gives you precision control of the Corvette, regardless of the pavement conditions or track conditions.

With the dual-clutch transmission you also have automatic shifting as well as manual shifting thanks to the steering wheel paddle shifters. You have access to quick-shifting thanks to the design, as well as double paddle de-clutching that allows you to disengage the clutch, and build engine revs in neutral before switching gears. The combination of the expert engineering as well as the Z51 Performance Package enables you to take full advantage of the Corvette Stingray's performance, being able to achieve 0 to 60 within just three seconds.

  • Design

For decades, the Corvette Stingray has managed to stand out from the crowd thanks to its unmistakable lines, aerodynamic curvature, and iconic style. Those design cues continue to be the foundational pillars that help make the 2024 Corvette Stingray a mouth-watering, eye-catching joy for anyone remotely interested in a two-door sports car. The aggressive edges and menacing angles help give the Stingray its current futuristic look, all while maintaining a very functional appearance. Working air vents, a functional air splitter, and the stealth-jet front profile all lend themselves well to making the eighth-generation Corvette quite the visual delight.

    Your Corvette, Your Style

Available both in a hard-top coupe with a fastback rear end, or as a convertible, the 2024 Stingray has a wide appeal within the segment. The snake-eyes LED headlights compliment the sharp arrowhead badging of the Corvette logo at the center of the hood. You can also get the Corvette in 14 different colors, with three new colors joining the lineup: Riptide Blue Metallic, Cacti Green, and Sea Wolf Gray Tricoat. The other 11 colors include Arctic White, Black, Torch Red, Silver Flare Metallic, Ceramic Matrix Gray Metallic, Hypersonic Gray Metallic, Carbon Flash Metallic, Rapid Blue, Accelerate Yellow Metallic, Amplify Orange Tintcoat, and Red Mist Metallic Tintcoat.

    More Customization Options

You also have four different roof designs, including a transparent roof panel, a body-color dual roof panel, a carbon-fiber roof panel, and a carbon fiber dual-roof panel. There are 14 different racing stripe color packages, too, along with three different fender stripes and graphics--if you really wanted your Corvette to have that track-star appeal. But if you wanted more than just your Corvette Stingray to have a cool color scheme and vinyl package, you also have nine different custom wheel designs that feature 19-inch wheels up front and 20-inch wheels in the rear. The designs are of the five-spoke dual-pairing variety tucked inside of Michelin Pilot Sport all Season 4 performance run-flat tires. You can choose between aluminum painted, forged aluminum, machine-faced aluminum, or carbon-flash wheel designs. You can even top it all off with three different custom brake calipers, as well as custom wheel cap accessories, too.

You also have available heated steering with a leather-wrapped microfiber performance steering wheel, providing ultimate comfort and grip whether you're dealing with bumper-to-bumper traffic or attempting to post 10-second runs on the drag strip. The 2LT and 3LT trims also come standard with the driver memory and passenger convenience package, so your personal settings and comfort levels are stored and restored whenever you sit behind the wheel.

    Connectivity

There are other conveniences in the form of available wireless charging, and phone projection thanks to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This is all powered by the Google built-in infotainment suite attached to an 8-inch HD touchscreen. It's here you have access to personalized customization, media apps, and vehicle health and telemetry, including the performance data recorder so you can keep track of how well you perform on the track. Added features like the heads-up display also make it easier to see what the Corvette's telemetry is without having to look down, or you can use the digital driver information display and customize what appears so you can see what's important to you. Added comfort features like the Bose surround sound system, available in 10-speaker or 14-speaker configurations, give you access to high-quality output from your favorite tunes while on the road.

    Chevy Safety Assist

You also have the added benefit of the Chevy Safety Assist that comes standard across the trim line, with a Following Distance Indicator, Forward Collision Alert, Lane Keep Assist, and Lane Departure Warning, all built right into the system from the start. There is also the inclusion of Front Pedestrian and Bicyclist Braking, along with Automatic Emergency Braking. Additionally, you have Rear Park Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and Side Blind Zone Alert available for the 2LT and 3LT, giving you both a comfortable and robustly tech-rich driving experience in the 2024 Chevy Corvette Stingray.
