We are already getting plenty of questions about the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500, and we’re not even through 2023 yet. But, as a trusted Chevy Silverado dealer, customers are coming to us to find out if getting the new 2024 model will best fit their needs. The Silverado 1500 has long been a trusted pickup in the truck world, with drivers loving it for its excellent configurability. With many bed and cab options, several impressive engine choices, exciting special editions, and tons of trims, the Silverado 1500 is a truck you can easily make your own.

Chevrolet continues to surprise drivers with the fine-tuning and updates made to the truck year after year. So, whenever we’re just on the cusp of turning over a new model year, we answer a lot of questions about how the newest version will compare to, or exceed, the last. To help you decide whether the 2024 Silverado 1500 is a worthy investment, here is a look at the highlights you can expect.

More Style Enhancements

Let’s start with what is new for the 2024 model, beginning with an exciting style choice. Now, drivers who love all of the luxury features of the High Country trim can get it in the Midnight Edition. That means stunning black elements for a distinctly urban aesthetic. Drivers who already loved this blacked-out look on previous trims can now get it with everything you love about the High Country.

As a refresher, the High Country gets Super Cruise, Chevy’s hands-free driving technology that can take over steering, braking, and acceleration. It enjoys a standard 7-inch diagonal infotainment touchscreen, showing your navigation, music, and more, with the ability to upgrade to a massive 13.4-inch screen depending on which trim you choose. The High Country also has beautiful interior details like real wood trim and leather seating surfaces. So now you can have all that with a sleek blacked-out exterior.

Plenty of Innovative Tech

Moving onto technology, there’s good news for those who can’t stand USB cords messing up their driver’s center. Wireless smartphone compatibility for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay is standard, starting on the entry-level WT, so every 2024 Silverado 1500 driver can leave the cords at home and easily sync your smartphone up to your infotainment system for seamless use of your favorite apps like navigation, podcasts, music and more.

Here’s a great feature for parents: the new rear seat belt indicator. Available on all crew cab and double cab trims, this feature boasts a small graphic on the driver instrument panel that tells you which rear seat belts are buckled in. So you can skip the back and forth with the child who isn’t being entirely honest about being buckled up. The seatbelt indicator does not lie!

Make Your Silverado Safer With These Available Features

Drivers who get the available Safety Package or WT Safety Package will now enjoy the addition of front and rear park assist. This will use sensors to notify you when you’re getting too close to other vehicles or obstacles in front or behind your vehicle. It can sense obstacles up to four feet in front of your vehicle and six feet behind it. This is a really useful feature for those using their Silverado for an everyday truck and who need to squeeze into a variety of parking spots every day. It’s another feature that parents might like, too, providing a little extra help when kids are distracting you.

Still Delivering Fantastic Power and Efficiency

The off-road-ready ZR2 is now available with the Duramax 3.0L Turbo-Diesel. This unlocks the maximum towing potential of the Silverado and pairs it with a rugged off-roader for even more adventure possibilities. So, drivers who want to tow a trailer to their off-road site for several days of camping can do so with ease. And they can enjoy the fuel economy of a diesel engine while they’re at it, getting 23 MPG in the city and 29 MPG on the highway. The addition of this engine option to the ZR2 just makes sense. People who go off-road tend to travel far to do so, meaning they often need to bring their accommodations, and wouldn’t mind a break on gas.

Favorite Features That Are Here to Stay

There are certain 2023 features that were just so popular that Chevy is naturally keeping them for the 2024 year. First off, you can still count on the awesomely versatile Multi-Flex tailgate. It has six positions and functions that make accessing, loading, and generally utilizing your bed easier. You can open the primary gate using your key fob or a switch inside the truck. When you need to reach deep into the bed, the inner gate folds down and out of the way. An inner gate load stop keeps second-tier items securely in place, while a primary gate load stop keeps extra-long items secure. A full-width step lets you easily hop in and out of your bed and can support 375 lbs. Finally, an inner gate with a work surface gives you a place to tackle paperwork on the go.

The Durabed remains as well, with its incredible 89.1 cu.ft. of volume and 12 standard tie-downs that are ideal for contractors and explorers alike. It also has an available power-up/down tailgate, which is useful when your hands are full. Hard workers can also still depend on a maximum 13,300-lb towing capacity with the proper configurations. Drivers can still rely on the Chevy Assist suite of driver-assist features to come standard across the trims. That means you get great features like lane keep assist, front pedestrian braking, and a following distance indicator. The handy available built-in Google is here to stay, too, helping you keep up with to-do lists, check traffic, get directions, and more on the road.
